Why Bennett's ER Matters
Bennett's Elemental Burst provides two of the most powerful buffs in Genshin Impact: massive ATK increase (based on his base ATK) and continuous healing. Missing Burst uptime means your team loses its primary damage amplifier — often resulting in failed Abyss runs.
With a 60 Energy cost and 15s cooldown, Bennett needs consistent ER to Burst every rotation. Unlike Xiangling who can lean on Bennett for battery, Bennett has no one to battery him — he must generate his own energy or rely on teammates with Favonius weapons.
Bennett's Energy Generation
- Press E (Passion Overload): 2 Pyro particles (standard)
- Hold E (Level 1-2): 2-3 Pyro particles
- Hold E (Level 2 - C4+): 3 Pyro particles (guaranteed at max charge)
Press E is recommended in most rotations for speed. Hold E (Level 2) generates more particles but takes field time. The particles are generated on hit, not on cast start.
ER Breakpoints by Team
1. Bennett as Solo Pyro (National Teams)
Recommended ER: 220-260%
- With Favonius Sword: 200-230%
- With Aquila Favonia / Alley Flash / Sapwood Blade: 230-260%
- With ER Sands + ER Weapon: 200-220%
2. Bennett + Xiangling (Double Pyro)
Recommended ER: 190-220%
- With Favonius Sword: 170-200%
- With Prototype Rancour / Skyward Blade: 200-230%
Xiangling's particles help battery Bennett in double-Pyro setups. The shared energy generation reduces both characters' ER needs.
3. Bennett in Raiden Teams (Raiden National / Hypercarry)
Recommended ER: 160-190%
- With Favonius Sword: 140-170%
- With high-base-ATK weapon: 170-200%
Raiden's Burst energy refund (up to 27 Energy) dramatically lowers Bennett's ER requirements. This is the most comfortable team for Bennett's ER.
Best Weapons for ER
| Weapon | Base ATK | ER% | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Favonius Sword (R5) | 454 | 30.6% (substat) + white particles | Best-in-slot for ER. Teamwide energy. Needs 40%+ CRIT rate. |
| Skyward Blade | 608 | 55.1% (substat) | Highest base ATK + massive ER substat |
| Sapwood Blade | 565 | 30.6% (substat) | Craftable, good base ATK, ER substat |
| Aquila Favonia | 674 | 0% | Highest base ATK — need ER sands |
| Alley Flash | 620 | 0% | High base ATK — need ER sands |
| Festering Desire | 454 | 0% | Best for DPS Bennett: +32% Skill DMG, +12% CRIT Rate on E. Low ER — pair with ER sands. |
Artifact Sets
4-Piece Noblesse Oblige is Bennett's best set for most teams. The 20% ATK buff for the team after Burst complements his own ATK buff.
- Sands: ER% (HP% if ER target already met)
- Goblet: HP%
- Circlet: Healing Bonus (HP% if healing is sufficient)
- Substats: ER% to requirement → HP% → Flat HP → CRIT Rate (for Favonius)
DPS Bennett (Melt comp): For Bennett as on-field carry with Chongyun, use 4-Piece Crimson Witch with EM Sands, Pyro Goblet, CRIT Circlet. His Burst already gives massive ATK, so EM scales better for Melt reactions. Pair with Festering Desire or Iron Sting for maximum Skill damage.
Alternative sets for specific teams:
- 4-Piece Instructor: 120 EM to team on reaction — good for reaction teams
- 4-Piece Ocean-Hued Clam: Physical damage bubble — niche, rarely best
- 2-Piece combinations: 2 Tenacity + 2 Emblem (HP + ER) — flexible
Key ER Tips
- Self-battery trick: Bennett E → swap to Xiangling or other Pyro -> They catch particles -> swap back. Bennett catches 0 particles if off-field when they spawn. Always catch Bennett's own particles with Bennett.
- A4 passive (Fearnaught): When inside Fantastic Voyage's circle, Passion Overload's CD is decreased by 50% (tap E becomes ~2s CD) and Bennett cannot be launched by the skill's explosion. This makes tap E spam inside his Burst the optimal way to generate particles.
- C1 removes HP restriction: Bennett C1 removes the 70% HP restriction on his ATK buff — one of the most important constellations in the game.
- C6 is safe (with exceptions): Bennett C6 infuses melee weapons with Pyro. Safe for most meta teams, but breaks: Ayaka Freeze (removes Cryo infusion), Chongyun Melt comps (overwrites Cryo field), and Physical DPS teams (removes Physical damage). If you play any of these, skip C6.
- ER + HP balance: Once you hit ER requirements, stack HP% for bigger heals. Bennett heals based on max HP (capped at 70%, but bigger per-tick).
